The beautiful mountain village of Ovindoli is located at 1375 m asl, at about 39 km from Aquila, in the Altopiano delle Rocche which also includes the centers of Rocca di Mezzo, Rovere and Rocca di Cambio. A mountain environment of great beauty with peaks reaching 2487 meters. It is one of the most important municipalities of the Sirente-Velino Park. Center of ancient origin, settlement and stronghold of the Marsi, was destroyed by the Romans during the "Social War", and then rebuilt by the Lombards. Charles of Anjou stayed here in 1268 before his definitive victory over Corradino di Svevia. To the beauties of the natural environment, Ovindoli combines the remarkable potential of winter sports facilities that makes this resort an important and modern winter sports resort. The slopes, with an excellent exposure, wind between a quota of 1400 m and 2200 m, with a total development of 30 km, all served by modern facilities. The snow is always abundant but the station has a very modern automatic snow-making system. The Monte Magnola facilities are located at the beginning of the Rocche Plateau, in a setting of wild beauty. Here we find the longest treadmill in Europe (235 meters) and thanks to the possibility of a shared ski-pass with Campo Felice, fun is guaranteed.

For fans there are cross country trails in the locality of Piani di Pezza where you can reach the beautiful beech forests of Valle Cerchiata. The facilities are equipped with 3 triposto chairlifts, 2 chair lifts and 1 cableway, 4 treadmills and 1 ski lift, and serve twenty one downhill slopes for a total of about 30 km. The station is equipped with 10 km of artificial snow and cross-country trails with rings of 3 and 5 km at 1900 m altitude, as well as a modern and well-equipped snow park area. In recent years Ovindoli has become a rather popular winter tourist resort and is part of the Tre Nevi district together with Campo Felice and Campo Imperatore. Ovindoli, gateway to the Rocche plateau is easily reachable from the A / 25 motorway. Numerous accommodation facilities are active here.
