Trabocchi Coast

Situated between the municipalities of Ortona and Vasto in the province of Chieti, this stretch of coastline is named so due to the presence of ancient fishing devices suspended over the sea, with an uncertain and mysterious origin, described by the poet Gabriele d'Annunzio as resembling "the colossal skeleton of an antediluvian amphibian." It is characterized by a charming and evocative alternation of cliffs, pebbly coves, and sea-facing headlands, where you can enjoy spectacular sunrises and romantic sunsets.
